Start today, secure tomorrow.
Like previous years, The S-Unit will be attending the HITB Security Conference in Amsterdam and sponsoring the Capture the Flag Hacking competition on April 13th and 14th.
What is HITB?HITB is an organisation that hosts security conferences in Asia and Amsterdam. These conferences give security researchers a platform to present research on a wide variety of subjects. Interesting subjects from previous years include zero day iOS jailbreaks, hacking Airplanes using mobile phones and remotely compromising parking management systems.
What is our relation to HITB and why do we sponsor? When Hack in the Box first came to Amsterdam in 2010, they were greatly helped by their local partner ITQ and local hacker spaces. This lead Barry van Kampen (then consultant at ITQ and head of hacker space Randomdata) and Sjoerd Versteeg (member of Randomdata) to join the Dutch Core Crew. When Dirk van Veen joined ITQ in 2011 (after meeting ITQ at HITB), it was not long until he joined HITB as a CTF organizer. A few years later Sjoerd also joined ITQ (2014) and ITQ's security unit became independent as The S-Unit in the beginning of 2015, the close relationship with HITB naturally followed. Ever since then, the number of The S-Unit employees with HITB relations has steadily grown and the relationship has continually strengthened.
But there is more to The S-Unit's relation than the obvious fun of organizing a security conference. The direct contact with international security researchers and the global security community means The S-Unit is in a unique position to keep up to date with the latest developments and find the right people for the right job. This is one of the reasons we can deliver the quality that our customers have come to expect of us.
So, do you want to see the latest developments in security, are you interested in the Dutch security community, or do you just want to see what our guys are up to?
