Looking back at 2024, one theme stands out immediately: the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). While AI was previously seen as a promising technology, we have taken concrete steps at The S-Unit. Our first AI solutions have been integrated to make our employees' work more efficient and intelligent. AI has transformed from a buzzword into a practical force within our organization.
Another major highlight of 2024 was the tremendous growth of The S-University. Our training offerings doubled, attracting a global audience with courses ranging from Mendix security to SOC training. The worldwide Mendix CTF we organized with partners was the icing on the cake. This growth demonstrates that security knowledge around application development remains indispensable, especially when business chains become increasingly complex. Our NIS2 boardroom training also gained significant attention as the implementation of NIS2 in the Netherlands is approaching.
Looking ahead to 2025, we anticipate further professionalization in cybersecurity. Organizations are increasingly realizing that compliance is only the beginning. Thorough risk analysis and strategic risk management take precedence. With the arrival of regulations such as DORA and NIS2, broader responsibility is emerging across the entire supply chain. At The S-Unit, we are responding to this by offering industry-specific Red Teaming, providing companies with essential trends, news, and insights, conducting pen tests, and expanding our CISO service. Additionally, we are taking our Mendix training to the next level by introducing Beginner, Advanced, and Expert training programs.
We also expect new trends, such as quantum computing and disinformation security. These developments require CISOs who are technically skilled and strategically decisive. We are committed to guiding and supporting organizations through this transition, leveraging AI in threat modelling and operational processes.
In short, 2024 was the year of action, but 2025 will be the year cybersecurity truly reaches the next level—driven by innovation, legislation, and the ongoing pursuit of making organizations more resilient. And for those who need our support, we are ready.
