The S-Unit

Go break it!

On October 10th and 11th, 2024, the Mendix Capture The Flag (CTF) will take place again. This event is known for its unique combination of cybersecurity and low-code technology. This two-day competition offers both beginners and advanced participants the opportunity to test and improve their skills in finding and exploiting vulnerabilities in Mendix web applications.

What is a Capture The Flag?

A Capture The Flag (CTF) is a competition format popular within the cybersecurity community. The goal is to capture "flags" by solving various technical challenges. These can range from cracking passwords to exploiting vulnerabilities in web applications. In the context of Mendix, this means participants work with a low-code development platform to solve specific security challenges.

Why participate in the Mendix CTF 2024?

The Mendix CTF is more than just a technical challenge. The event offers participants the opportunity to learn from industry experts, attend workshops, and expand their network with other professionals and enthusiasts. This year, there is a special emphasis on accessibility for beginners, with a more flexible schedule for hacking.

There are exciting prizes to be won for those who capture the most flags. These prizes range from cash awards to hardware and access to exclusive events. But above all, the Mendix CTF 2024 offers the opportunity to test and improve your security knowledge and skills in a competitive yet educational environment.

Accessibility for beginners

One of the standout features of the Mendix CTF 2024 is the emphasis on accessibility. The event is designed to welcome both newcomers and experienced hackers by offering a wide range of challenges, from simple to highly complex. All participants have access to the same challenges, allowing everyone – regardless of their experience level – to take part in both easier and more difficult tasks. This means even experienced hackers will be eager to complete the simpler challenges to score points quickly.

In addition, a special space will be created at The S-Unit office for beginners (for in-person participants), where they will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance. For beginners, there will be simple challenges that introduce them to the world of cybersecurity and low-code development, while more experienced participants can work on more complex scenarios that will push their limits. Workshops and lectures will be offered by experienced professionals who will share their knowledge and expertise with the participants. This makes the event not only an opportunity to compete but also to learn and grow in an increasingly important field.

The Mendix CTF 2024 promises to be an exciting and educational experience for anyone interested in cybersecurity, low-code development, or simply looking for a challenge. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a curious beginner, this event has something for everyone. In short, make sure to be there on October 10th and 11th, and get ready for two days full of learning, networking, and of course, hacking!
